AUT and Autodesk join the crew

It’s been a great 2nd half of 2015 with growing support for the AguaPallet Project.

The team has gained a great resource with the acceptance of LoooP Creative Ltd onto the Autodesk Entrepreneur Impact Partner Program.  Autodesk has provided us with access to leading edge product design software and subscription support through to 2018!  This has been an incredible boost, removing one of the key obstacles to scaling up the team as we progress the design work.

And scale up the team we have!  The Auckland University of Technology School of Engineering are now collaborating with us, providing much needed extra depth in prototyping, testing and mechanical engineering.

AUT STUDENT PROJECT
In October of 2015, AUT used the AguaPallet for a 2nd year student project.  150 students in 30 teams of 5, tackled one of 3 different end use scenarios with concept design work.  The 3 scenarios we gave them were:

  • Pacific Islands; our own back yard.
  • Sudden Onset Urban Disaster; predicted to be a growth industry.
  • Slow Onset Human-Made Disasters; affects the largest number of people.

It was great to get some alternative thinking onto the AguaPallet concept.  Some quite diverse ideas came out of it which has challenged some of our own thinking.
